The syllabus requires you to evaluate policy against actual events, not textbook abstractions. Most students know this and still can't do it under time pressure.

The syllabus
SL students take the Core Module. HL students take both.
Part 1 · Phase 1 · HL & SL
Covers: Microeconomics and Macroeconomics foundations.
The problem: You lose marks on messy diagrams, or you fail to evaluate policy using real-world context — a strict requirement of the current syllabus.

Part 2 · Phase 2 · HL only
Covers: Theory of the Firm, Quantitative Methods and advanced policy.
The problem: The killer topic — abstract, highly graphical, and demanding precise mathematical understanding to score well.
The fix: We consolidate Theory of the Firm end to end, master the Marginal Cost and Marginal Revenue relationships, and decode Oligopoly behaviour. Also see our HL Paper 3 guide.
Our methodology
We don't spend expensive live coaching hours lecturing on basic definitions. You arrive already knowing them — and you leave having been tested on them.
8 hours for SL, 13 for HL. Before you step into the classroom, you log in. Kelvin's premium concept videos cover definitions, basic theory and diagram construction at your own pace, so you arrive at the live session ready to apply rather than ready to listen.
27 hours for SL, 42 for HL, with Kelvin Hong. Class time goes entirely to high-value scoring skills: testing conceptual understanding, deconstructing Paper 1 and Paper 2 questions, structuring essays around real-world examples, and drilling the application technique that secures a 7.
2 hours under exam conditions, individually marked. Once the HL Extension Module closes, both tracks sit a timed paper under real constraints — then marked and returned with written feedback by Kelvin. You find out whether the technique holds up under pressure while there is still a full year to act on it.

The 2-hour timed practice is held after the final HL session on 10 December, in addition to the coaching hours above. The programme closes with a 2-hour timed practice sat under exam conditions, held after the final HL session. Every script is individually marked by Kelvin and returned with written feedback, so you enter Year 6 knowing which techniques are holding and which still need work. SL students sit the same paper, on the same date.
